The following prerequisites must be completed to take the National Lifeguard Instructor Recertification course and be recertified:

1) Hold a National Lifeguard Instructor award (current or expired). 

2) Complete all mandatory updates as required.

If these prerequisites are not met, you will not be awarded your National Lifeguard Instructor recertification, even if you complete the full recertification course.
